Setting of import tolerance for fluazinam in blueberries

Undefined

EFSA Panel on EFSA Panel on Plant Protection Products and their Residues (PPR)

In accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, the evaluating Member State (EMS), Austria, received an application from ISK Biosciences Europe N.V. to set an import tolerance for the active substance fluazinam in blueberries from the import country the United States at the proposed level of 4 mg/kg. Austria drafted an evaluation report in accordance with Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, which was submitted to the European Commission and forwarded to EFSA. According to EFSA the data are sufficient to derive an import tolerance of 3 mg/kg for the proposed use on blueberries. The existing use on blueberries is adequately supported by residue data and an import tolerance proposal can therefore be derived. Adequate analytical enforcement methods are available to control the residues of fluazinam in plant matrices/on the commodity under consideration. Based on the risk assessment results, EFSA concludes that the proposed use of fluazinam on blueberries will not result in a consumer exposure exceeding the toxicological reference values of the active substance and therefore is unlikely to pose a consumer health risk.
