In accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, the evaluating Member State (EMS), Greece, received two applications from the company Nisso Chemical Europe to modify the existing maximum residue levels (MRL) for the active substance acetamiprid in various crops. Greece drafted evaluation reports in accordance with Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, which were submitted to the European Commission and forwarded to EFSA. For reasons of efficiency EFSA assessed both applications together. According to EFSA, the data are sufficient to derive MRL proposals for all crops under consideration. For apricots no need to modify the existing MRL was identified. On the basis of the risk assessment results, EFSA concludes that the proposed use of acetamiprid on apricots, olives, tomatoes, gherkins, beans and peas (with pods), pulses, rapeseeds and wheat will not result in a consumer exposure exceeding the toxicological reference values and therefore is unlikely to pose a consumer health risk.
